Sustainability in our culture through fashion and art is endlessly growing. As people and consumers, our minds are shifting in how we create and consume. The term "Zero-Waste" as a life style becomes more and more relevant with designers and artists shifting their focus on fashion that is sustainable and ethical.

In this Zero-Waste Weaving Workshop at the MAD Museum in NYC led by artist Cynthia Alberto, we are inspired to create a small woven project on a peg loom using materials/scraps that were originally subject to be discarded and ultimately contributed to textile landfill all while learning different weaving techniques.
Included are photos of my weaving project during this workshop from July 14. I was really interested in using woven fabric strips and playing with color & fringe techniques to create a piece that spoke to my personality.
